Christian Demetriou
Christian is a community engagement professional driven by an inclusive public realm. Christian advocates for planning informed by place-based knowledge, and bringing the lived diversity of place and people into the built environment.
Christian brings with them experience from a range of project scales, from the local and regional, to city-shaping and interstate projects. Their community engagement practice is centred on respect and relationships, which extends through community members, stakeholders, and clients alike.
To them, a successful community engagement process is one that respects the community, their voices, and their time. To achieve this, Christian always looks for ways to embrace diversity, and design inclusive engagement processes.
Since joining CoFutures, Christian has planned and strategised place-based engagement processes, including Housing and Neighbourhood Character strategies, and Place Plans to inform Neighbourhood Activity Centres.
