Visualising the Timboon Reusery
Reimagining the Timboon Transfer Station
The Challenge
The Timboon Transfer Station is a strategically located site in Corangamite Shire that sits at the interface with a future residential subdivision. For the past 25 years, the site has been used as a waste transfer station however recently became available for purchase. Council wanted to explore opportunities to reimagine the future of the site for community uses, with a focus on sustainability, the circular economy and re-use.
CoFutures was commissioned to develop concept designs, sketches and illustrations to bring to life the future vision for the site and to help communicate its potential to the Timboon community.
What We Did
- Conducted a visioning workshop with Council to determine the proposed land uses and site configuration.
- Researched potential community ‘re-use’ opportunities that could be used to activate the site.
- Prepared concept sketches of the proposed land uses and built form.
- Designed perspective views and renders to show the potential interface treatments and activities within the proposed site area.
Outcomes
The concept sketches and perspective views developed will be used to assist Council in seeking future funding and grants to support the activation and longer-term use of the site.
